Ocean City police have charged a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old woman, both from Anne Arundel County, who were identified as suspects in a June robbery in Ocean City after being arrested in Essex in an unrelated incident.

In a Monday news release, Ocean City Police identified Takala Robinson, 19, of Pasadena, and a 16-year-old boy from Glen Burnie, as two out of three suspects in a June 15 robbery. An 18-year-old had reported to police that Robinson, the juvenile and a third unidentified person engaged him in a conversation before robbing him at gunpoint in the area of 16th Street and Philadelphia Avenue in Ocean City, police said.

Baltimore County Police arrested Robinson and the 16-year-old on gun and car theft charges later that week after a report of a fight in Essex, where both teens were found carrying handguns, police said in charging papers. Police also determined they were both traveling in a car that had been reported stolen in Anne Arundel County, and the juvenile’s handgun had been reported stolen during a vehicle theft in Baltimore County.

Ocean City officers later traveled to Baltimore County when police there said that while arresting the teens, they found items that belonged to the victim of the Ocean City robbery, according to the release.

The teens were both charged with armed robbery, robbery and first- and second-degree assault for the June 15 robbery, where police have still not identified the third suspect, Ocean City Police said. Both teens are being held without bail in Baltimore County on handgun and vehicle theft offenses.
