A Delmar Fire Department truck was involved in a crash with a tractor-trailer Tuesday morning, according to the Delmar Police Department.
Just before 10:15 a.m. July 26, a request came over the police scanner for “heavy rescue, at least four ambulances” and a helicopter at the intersection of Route 13 and Line Road.
Police were not able to confirm how many people were injured in the crash, though radio scanner traffic indicated there were six patients. Photos showed the fire truck in the median of Route 13 with significant damage to its front end.
Route 13 north in the area of the crash was closed for some time.
The Delmar Fire Department declined to provide any details. Delmar Police Department Chief Ivan Barkley confirmed the crash involved a firetruck and a tractor-trailer, but said he didn’t know how many people were injured. His department is investigating the crash.
In a Facebook post shared at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Delmar Fire Department said “all fire personnel are home and resting.”
