Weather in 5 Major Hurricane Fiona with 115 mph winds is raking the Southeast Bahamas today. Fiona will head north northeast in the coming days passing west of Bermuda late Thursday or Thursday night. Then it turns northward toward Nova Scotia & Newfoundland Friday night into Saturday. Elsewhere it is a nice day from Southern New England to Northern Florida and west into the Plains. Some showers in Northern New England & Upstate NY this afternoon are being caused by an upper trough. A cold front heads east Wednesday with the risk for showers and thunderstorms in the Eastern Lakes to Western NY & Pennsylvania. That front ushers in very cool air into much of the Eastern US for the end of the week and into the weekend. A developing tropical wave east of the Windward Islands is becoming better organized and this could be come a tropical depression or a tropical storm in the coming days as it heads westward into the Caribbean.
