The Federalsburg man wanted in an Ocean City stabbing case that’s more than 10 years old was caught last month in Texas.
The Ocean City Police Department said 47-year-old Manuel Armando Escalante was arrested March 22 in Laredo, Texas, on a warrant charging him with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure.
The arrest stems from an incident outside a midtown restaurant on July 24, 2010, when Escalante stabbed a victim multiple times after an altercation in the parking lot, according to a news release.
The victim was taken to Salisbury to be treated at what was then Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
Escalante has been extradited to the Worcester County Jail where he is now being held without bond as he awaits trial.
