UPDATE: This report has been updated with additional info released Monday evening about the type of car driven by the suspect or suspects in the Ocean Pines shooting and the time of the incident.

The Ocean Pines Police Department is working to identify who was responsible for a Sunday night shooting.

Police Chief Leo Ehrisman released updated information Monday evening about the incident that summoned officers to the area of Footbridge Trail and Nottingham Lane at about 10 p.m. Sunday.

An initial news release from the Ocean Pines Association stated that the driver of an SUV, which may have been a Chevrolet Equinox, was believed to have fired about 10 shots between 10 and 11 p.m.

An updated release issued Monday evening showed the shooting occurred between 9:30 and 10 p.m. and that police have ruled out the possibility that the suspect or suspects were in a Chevrolet Equinox.
