POCOMOKE CITY, Md. — Pocomoke City Police Chief Lee Brumley announced this week that he has turned in his letter of resignation citing recent events as the cause for his sudden departure.

“On Monday I turned my resignation into the city manager at Pocomoke City Hall,” Brumley said in a brief statement to Delmarva Now. “I felt it was the right time because of some unforeseen issues that occurred in the past week.”

He added, “I have enjoyed my time in the past 26 months as chief of police with Pocomoke City.”

The issue doesn’t involve the city or himself, Brumley said Thursday morning in a phone interview. It also doesn’t relate to any litigation or investigation.

Brumley didn’t to want comment in detail on the matter “out of respect for the issue,” adding more information might become public in the future.
