Salisbury dentist faces charges over fraudulent billing: prosecutors

by DrewLUD

Wicomico County prosecutors say a Salisbury dentist faces criminal charges after an investigation into fraudulent billing practices dating back to 2013.

Stewart Perim of Peninsula Total Dental Care Center at 1505 S. Salisbury Blvd. was served Tuesday with a summons to appear in court on several counts of insurance fraud, according to a Wicomico County State’s Attorney’s Office news release.

The charges are the result of a long-term investigation by the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division, Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners and the state’s attorney’s office. The Maryland Office of the Attorney General and the National Insurance Crime Bureau provided technical assistance.
