Travelers on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel should expect major delays after a three-vehicle car crash Monday, June 7.
At about 11:20 a.m., a head-on collision involving an SUV, a minivan and a sedan occurred in the Chesapeake Tunnel of the bridge-tunnel system, according to a news release from the CBBT District.
Both north and south lanes were initially blocked at the scene of the incident. The bridge-tunnel was closed to all traffic shortly after the incident, and reopened at about 12:45 p.m., according to a CBBT tweet.
Two victims were transported by Virginia Beach Fire & Rescue to hospitals in Virginia Beach, according to the CBBT District. Other minor injuries were treated at the scene.
