Two shootings in one hour in Seaford

Police are investigating two shooting incidents that occurred within one hour of each other Tuesday night in downtown Seaford.

The Seaford Police Department responded to the 400 block of North Street around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, for a report of shots fired. Evidence indicated there was a single shooter that struck a residence with gunfire, police said.

Officers still at the North Street scene heard more gunfire just after 7 p.m. It was determined to have come from the Woodland Mills apartment complex, off Bridgeville Highway, where one victim was injured, police said. The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Evidence at Woodland Mills indicated one suspect was responsible for striking one victim and several apartments with gunfire, according to police.

Anyone with information regarding these shootings is urged to contact the Seaford Police Department at 302-629-6645 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
