Worcester County Board of Education President Eric Cropper Sr. has died.
Cropper, who was in his late 40s, was elected to the board in 2014. He became board president in 2020.
Cropper was also a licensed real estate adviser with NAI Coastal.
The Worcester County native was a fifth generation member of his church.
Cropper is survived by his wife, Bess, and three children.
In a statement, Worcester County Public Schools Superintendent Lou Taylor said the community is “heartbroken over the sudden loss” of Cropper.
“Eric was a kind soul, who brought his love for our schools to life through his work on our board,” Taylor said. “He has given so much of his time and effort to our schools, and he undoubtedly would have continued to do so.”
