‘You can’t drive by and not stop’: Sixteen-foot sculpture made of sticks outside Maryland Hall in Annapolis complete

The sticks and branches used for Dougherty’s work were harvested from Maryland’s Eastern Shore, where sometimes the only thing on the horizon is an old, abandoned house and a tree. Sometimes the house is completely gone, but the trees has survived, a reminder of the shelter that was once there, Dougherty said.
